Terms of Use

Plain rules for a shared space. These terms set out how you can use the You & AI website and what you can expect from us in return — written to be read, not just signed.

NOTE

You & AI is a charity in formation. These terms are a working draft published in good faith and will be reviewed by qualified advisers before our services launch. They are not a substitute for legal advice.

1 · About these terms

These terms govern your use of the You & AI website at younai.org. By browsing or using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. We may add separate terms for specific programmes or services — where that happens, those terms will apply alongside these.

2 · Using our site

You're welcome to use our site for personal, educational and non-commercial purposes. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we can't guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may update, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice.

3 · Acceptable use

In keeping with our mission, please use our site responsibly. You agree not to:

  • Use it for any unlawful, harmful or fraudulent purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access, or disrupt the site or its security.
  • Copy, scrape or republish our materials beyond the permissions below.
  • Misrepresent your affiliation with us or use our name to mislead.

4 · Intellectual property

The content on this site — text, design, logos and branding — belongs to You & AI or our licensors, unless stated otherwise. Many of our educational resources are intended to be freely shared; where a resource is offered under an open licence, the licence terms will be stated on the resource itself. Otherwise, please ask before reusing our materials — we're usually happy to say yes.

5 · Our content & advice

Our materials are provided for general educational purposes. AI is a fast-moving field, and while we work hard to keep our content accurate and balanced, it shouldn't be relied on as professional, legal or technical advice. Always apply your own judgement — that, after all, is the whole point of AI literacy.

6 · Donations

Donations made through our site are processed securely by third-party payment providers and are used to further our charitable aims. Unless required by law, donations are non-refundable — but if a genuine mistake is made, please get in touch and we'll do our best to put it right.

Our site may link to external websites and resources we think are useful. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.

8 · Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, our site or its content. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under UK law.

9 · Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10 · Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time as the charity develops. The current version will always be posted here with the "last updated" date. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11 · Contact us

If anything here is unclear, or you'd like permission to use our materials, just ask.
